A massive pillow fight in New York City! Feathers fly and teddies soar as we gather for a massive urban pillow fight! How did I miss this? Photography by Daniel K.Gebhart

I went in 2007. It's the sort of event you only have to see once. Like the running of the bulls, I imagine, except with fewer life-threatening injuries.

But did they clean up the feathers after they were done, or leave it for someone else to do?

In San Francisco they do it on Valentine's Day in Justin Herman Plaza. What a great way to "celebrate" the day even if you're single.

They're called "flash mobs". This event/"mission" was probably done by a group called improv everywhere. Join the mailing list!

wow how exciting! I definitely live in a boring area. NOTHING fun ever happens in LA! Even the Earthquakes have now moved the Midwest! I need to move! I want to go to the next Pillow Fight!
