Crowdsourcing product improvements: It's a rare product that can't benefit from at least a minor improvement. RedesignMe is putting crowdsourcing to work to refine and revise product designs of mass-produced consumer goods.

Products are not designed for maximum usefulness, they are designed specifically to break, go out-of fashion, and/or be supplanted by a better version.
How many iPods have there been? Companys need no help in designing their products, they know exactly what you want and need - they have to, so they can keep it just outof reach, lest you be content and stop buying.
