i'm a lifelong vancouverite, and it's perplexing to me that the city places so high so often. i love my hometown, but rent/housing is so expensive and there are plenty of social problems. plus, brooklyn is way more fun.

I love Vancouver. Being 20 minutes away from the North Shore mountains and some great ski/snowboard terrain is amazing. If you don't like rain though, you're screwed! Luckily people in Vancouver seem to be cross-bred with ducks so they get along fine.

Spent two weeks recently in Z for a project and loved it except for the INSANE cost of living there. You can't buy a meal there for less than the equivalent of $30.
