How does one art direct a cow?

DJ Stout (from pentagram) has redesigned the magazine Dairy Today that is launching this month. In addition to a bold new logotype, the magazine will feature a stylized “portrait” of a dairy cow on the cover of each issue in an effort to differentiate it from its competitors. How does one art direct a cow?

greaaat! :D

That looks like loads of fun.

Wow! These are great -- a bold change that really gets attention. I wonder if a "calendar girl" series is in the works -- these cows would look so great hanging on the wall.

Was this shot by the same guy that did the cows in the Hudson Hotel in NY?
