The point of a decanter is to expose the wine to air. The thin tube-like structure of this decanter means the wine will have very little contact with the air. In fact, it will actually decant the wine less than if you just left it in the bottle.
I think it's sposta look like a branch, but I think it would look more like it invaded your table to abduct your chicken and veggies...

Not to mention that it is just plain ugly.

I'm sorry but I have to agree. When form defeats function, you end up with a paperweight. And it's ugly.
