I always get nerdishly sentimental when I think of the original Mac GUI. I literally grew up looking at Bill Atkinson's pixelated face (drawn by Kare) grinning at me through his era-appropriate bushy mustache, while I explored the world inside that monochromatic 9" screen.
Just the mention of FatBits gets me choked up.
